RAMBLINGS
Ramblings is a collection of writings that tend to ramble on
different topics to spark interest, challenge, and encourage others to research
and think deeper on the issues of life. It is not meant to cause dissension,
arguments, or debates in any way. They are merely points and thoughts to
ponder. The "other side of the
coin" so to speak. A Rambling is not meant to necessarily draw to a
conclusion. It's up to you, the reader to do that.

Theistic Evolution
What is it? Should we as Christians
consider it?
This is a subject on which a whole book could be written but
hopefully some insight can be gotten from this Rambling.
Theistic Evolution is very basically the belief that God had
to use evolution to create the universe. It comes in a number of forms. One of
these is called Progressive Creationism where God needs time to do His
creation. At the present time most
evolutionists seem to agree with their "Big
Bang" theory.
Theistic Evolution is dangerous because that is what most
Evangelical Christians tend to believe if they are not sure about evolution and
what it all really entails. They are
trying to mesh their theology with evolution.
They know they should agree with the bible but then scientists (who
should know all !!! ???) say otherwise so they try to combine them. One of the
main and many vehicles they use to do this is by saying that the 6 days of
creation were not 24 hour days. They could have been any amount of eons of
time.
The other vehicles that cause doubt and unbelief will be
addressed in future Ramblings.
Based on the above precepts here are Some Rambling Thoughts:
Genesis 1:1-3 "In the beginning God created the heavens
and the earth.
And the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over
the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.
Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was
light."
What did God say? He said, "Let there be
light"...
He spoke His creation
into existence. He didn't say KABOOOOOM
!!!!!!
Hebrews 1:3 "Who being the brightness of His glory, and
the express image of His person, and upholding
all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our
sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;"
-
God is not dependent on time. He transcends time. He does
not need time. He is beyond the physical restraints of time. He himself created
time. Time is only relative to His creation.
-
Theology and evolution are incompatible because they are
contradictory. Theology says there is a creator and evolution says it all
happens over time by chance.
-
God is beyond light. He is Light. Therefore, if
God is infinite and He is light then light
at the beginning probably had an infinite speed and has been slowing down over
time. Science is already proving that light is slowing down.
He created the universe with physical laws
that are not available today.
That is
why God is omnipresent,
omnipotent, and omniscient.

II Timothy 3:16
"All scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness."
That is what the scriptures say about itself. So what do we
leave out? What do we believe or choose not to believe?
-
We either have to choose to believe it all or we have to
choose to not believe any of it.
-
If
we start to
not believe part of scripture where do we stop in our unbelief?
-
We must choose to believe all
of scripture because if we don't we erode and water down
the Authoritative Word of God.
-
Consider this. Evolution says that man is the highest and
last on the evolutionary chain. The highest evolved.
Creationism says that God created man on the 6th day. The last of
His creation.
-
Evolution requires death for it to occur.
-
The bible says that sin came into the universe when Adam
& Eve sinned not when the first cell sinned.
-
Death could not have been happening
in the world eons ago causing evolution to
take place because death only entered the world after Adam & Eve sinned
which would have been after evolution was finished taking place or at least at
it's highest level.
( This sentence is
an example of a TRUE
Rambling. )
-
See the
conflict?
That is why the 6 days have
to be literally 24 hour days.
-
The universe is no more than 6000 or 7000 years old.
-
Psalms 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament sheweth His handiwork."...
