RAMBLINGS
Ramblings is a collection of writings that tend to ramble on
different topics to spark interest, challenge, and encourage others to research
and think deeper on the issues of life. It is not meant to cause dissension,
arguments, or debates in any way. They are merely points and thoughts to
ponder. The "other side of the
coin" so to speak. A Rambling is not meant to necessarily draw to a
conclusion. It's up to you, the reader to do that.

Star Light What Does It Really Tell Us?
As from a previous Rambling on Theistic Evolution this is
another one of the biggest vehicles
that causes doubt and unbelief.
In Astronomy scientists have searched the heavens for
hundreds of years trying to find and understand the beginning of time and the
universe and how it was created. They have discovered many wonderful and
beautiful things. They have drawn many great conclusions, some good but
unfortunately many may be in error.
Through their research they have found that light travels
186,000 miles/second and in one year it travels about 6.6 trillion miles. Thay
have called this unit a light year or the amount of miles light travels in one
year. They have found ways to measure the distance of stars from the earth
based on the color shift of light and determined that many are millions and
billions of light years away. Therefore,
they have concluded that it must have taken the light from those particular
stars millions and billions of years to reach us and therefore the universe
is millions or billions of years old.
However, this does not line up with what the Bible says and
when we as Christians whose guide is the Bible see conclusions that contradict
the Scriptures we should question the validity of the conclusion.
-
Genesis 1:1-3
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
And the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over
the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of
God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was
light."
-
Genesis 1:14-19
"Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to
separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons,
and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the
heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so. And God made the two
great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to
govern the night; He made the stars
also. And God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the
earth , and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from
the darkness; and God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was
morning, a fourth day."
-
God created
light. He didn't grow it. It was all over instantly. It did not have to travel.
-
Adam and Eve were
created fully grown and mature. They did not have to grow up or mature. All the
rest of the animals and trees and His creation was created fully formed and
mature.
-
So why couldn't
the universe and all the stars be created fully mature and the light from the
stars already be seen on the earth and not have traveled to get here.
Consider this: All
of the universe was created fully mature with the stars being seen as they are
now. The science and math is correct in discovering the distance of the stars.
But the conclusion that it took billions of years for light to travel to get
here is false. In creation it was already here. It just continues to come.
God has created the beauty of the stars for our enjoyment
and pleasure. He has allowed us to understand and see the distances and expanse
and majesty of the universe. Why? To
Glorify Him, To Love Him, And Adore Him, Not His Creation, But Him.
Do You Love Him For
All He Has Done?
