RAMBLINGS

Ramblings is a collection of writings that tend to ramble on different topics to spark interest, challenge, and encourage others to research and think deeper on the issues of life. It is not meant to cause dissension, arguments, or debates in any way. They are merely points and thoughts to ponder. The "other side of the coin" so to speak. A Rambling is not meant to necessarily draw to a conclusion. It's up to you, the reader to do that.

PHD. What does it really mean?

All the sciences are wonderful to study and learn. Many people spend a lifetime studying a particular science with great satisfaction and understanding. There is Biology, Geology, Astronomy, Chemistry, Nuclear Physics, General Physics, Sociology, Psychology, and many more. What do all of these have in common? It is interesting that all of these subjects can be learned to a depth of understanding which can earn a degree called a PHD. That means a Doctor in Philosophy. A degree in Philosophy for that particular subject. Interesting isn't it. This appears to be the highest degree to be obtained in studying a subject. The most in-depth study of a particular subject.

Webster defines Philosophy as "1. love of, or the search for, wisdom or knowledge. 2. theory or logical analysis of the principles underlying conduct, thought, knowledge, and the nature of the universe: included in philosophy are ethics, aesthetics, logic, epistemology, metaphysics, etc. 3. The general principles or laws of a field of knowledge, activity."

This seems to indicate that all studies lead to a philosophy or become philosophical and ultimately leads to the unexplainable. We may learn how something works but not why it works that way or why it works in a particular way but not how it works. An example is Astronomy, as we observe through the Hubble Telescope we are seeing further out into the universe and the further we look the more stars we see. It is never ending. Also as we look further under the microscope and deeper into particle physics we are going further and further down the scale finding more and more particles ever going smaller but never finding the end. The more questions we answer the more questions we have that are unanswerable which brings us to the final Rambling Thought.

If all subjects lead to a philosophy and ultimately become deeper and deeper in understanding, where does it all lead to? The unexplainable? Things seem to all go to infinity or do they all point to an origin and an ending? Either way they end up, "Ok What Now"? Where do we go from here? Have you ever considered that if they do lead to infinity they may lead to an infinite God? Or, if they lead to a beginning and an ending they also may lead to an infinite God? Also, does one think maybe it was all designed that way? Maybe it was designed that way so that all subjects eventually point to God. This causes us to be pointed toward God. Maybe it's God saying, "I did it all. I created it all. All answers come from and through Me. You can't get away from Me no matter how hard you try. I'll always be there." You see no matter how hard we try, we can't get away from GOD for He's always there in everything we do and study. Everything  Points To GOD. It's As Simple As That!!!
